Maíra Dietrich
Florianópolis, Brazil, 1988.
Lives in São Paulo, Brazil. Since 2012 runs independent publishing project A Missão.

My work addresses the experience of language as a bodily phenomena, and most importantly the experiences of reading and hearing. Through a practice of writing, video and printed matter, the work aims to shift the meaning of things as we know by drawing attention to details and inner structures of objects, images, words and sounds. Sculptural and spatial aspects of written and spoken language are used as self reflexive tools that never describe or address something without describing or addressing itself.
